Since 1996, film journalist Alex Simon has interviewed the biggest names in world cinema. The Hollywood Interview is a collection of those talks, past and present, with the iconic veterans, young iconoclasts, and future innovators of the world's greatest art form.  Each interview is wrapped in an audio backdrop of the artist's work and Alex's filmic commentary.

Patrick Swayze passed ten years ago today, September 14, 2009, at age 57. Of the over 600 people I've interviewed since 1996, Patrick was, by far, the nicest. A real person. No pretense. No diva, movie star nonsense. Just another guy that I was having a chat with. In a time when we see ex-Nazis (and other despots) living to the century mark, the untimely passing of someone like Patrick Swayze is made all that much more palpable. Our interview is recreated here and, I hope, captures the spirit of our meeting.
